On Monday, March 23, 2009, the Triumph Wedge Car community lost one of its greatest friends and advocates as Bill Sweeting, former Secretary/Treasurer of the TR8 Car Club of America, lost a year long battle with leukemia.

For more than a decade, Bill, along with David Huddleson, managed the TR8CCA while it grew to over 400 members during its peak years in the late 1990s. He was a familiar sight at regional British car shows, particularly The Roadster Factory’s Summer Party, which became the unofficial annual gathering of the TR8CCA.  Bill’s promotion of the 1998 Summer Party, at which the wedge was the featured marque (the first time the wedge car was so honored at a major event), resulted in a class of more than 80 TR8s; the largest gathering of the marque before or since.  This page is dedicated to Bill and will feature events in his honor.  Dates of future meetings will be posted here.

The TWOA has decided to hold the Bill Sweeting Memorial Rallye and Dinner, which will be an annual event held during the Roadster Factory's Summer Party at the Coventry Inn in Armagh, PA in Bill's honor.

If anyone is interested in a TR8 poster Bill's brother John still has some (Email him here).  You can make a donation (we suggest at least $20 which is what Bill originally charged for them) to the "William Sweeting Building Fund" and send it to John at 729 Admiralty Way, Webster, NY 14580 and he will send you one. The donation is to a non profit charitable organization (part of the Stepping Stones Learning Centers) so it's tax deductible.

The 24" X 36" Poster contains all the images from the Coupe and Convertible sales brochures.  The quality is such that you can read all the written words from the brochures.
